Masala Dosa
Masala dosa is a savory crepe made from a batter of fermented rice and urad dal (black gram). The batter is spread thinly on a hot griddle or tawa, forming a large, crispy crepe. Inside, it is filled with a spiced potato filling, known as "masala," which typically includes boiled and mashed potatoes seasoned with mustard seeds, turmeric, curry leaves, onions, and sometimes green chilies.
To prepare masala dosa, the following steps are generally followed:
Batter Preparation: Rice and urad dal are soaked, ground into a smooth batter, and left to ferment overnight. This fermentation process gives the dosa its characteristic tanginess.
