Since our founding in 1818, we’ve had the privilege of dressing nearly every President.

One of our most notable clients, Abraham Lincoln, wore a Brooks Brothers overcoat to his second inauguration and tragically again five weeks later when he was assassinated.

Theodore Roosevelt, Ulysses S. Grant and Woodrow Wilson all wore Brooks Brothers suits when they took their oaths of office.

Slide 1 - President Abraham Lincoln wore a Brooks Brothers custom black frock coat to his Second Inaugural swearing-in ceremony in 1865.

Slide 2 - Sunday Evening Post from 1945 “Abe Lincoln Shopped Here” by John Durant and Lloyd Mann.

Slide 3 - The embroidered lining of Abraham Lincoln’s Brooks Brothers coat depicts an eagle holding a banner with the inscription, “One Country, One Destiny.”
