Meet Surekha Tai, our Green Bean Cleaning Executive — but honestly, that title doesn’t do justice to all that she does! From coordinating operations to keeping an eye on the roastery and coffee stock, she’s the driving force that keeps things running smoothly.
She started as a housekeeper and worked her way up to the role she holds today. With 7 years at Blue Tokai, she knows our coffee like the back of her hand. And if you’ve ever walked into the roastery, chances are her warm smile and calm energy have made your day just a little brighter.
She considers the team her family, and that’s exactly how she earned the title ‘Surekha Tai.’
This year, for our birthday on 1 January, 2025 we set up special walls in our cafés with letters from our community, with space for you to add more. We just finished sorting through the beautiful letters we received in numbers we didn’t anticipate!
From the PhD student who completed their thesis at a Blue Tokai café to the regular who found a second home at our Malviya Nagar café after moving to Delhi — we’re glad to have to have met so many of you through your letters. The kind words, anecdotes, and art you’ve sent our way have been heartwarming.

Presenting our newest microlot: MSP microlot. A melting pot of micro-climates where some of India’s finest coffee has thrived since 1920, MSP Coffee is a group of seven estates in Yercaud, including the three that lend to this blend.
From achieving a surprisingly sweet cup after fermenting coffee with a local variety of bitter lemons to seeing the tail end of a 1000-hour ferment, the group exemplifies how curiosity lies at the heart of their work. The micro lots we picked for this blend come from Bison Valley Estate, Stanmore Estate, and Orchardale Estate and bear this very spirit.

This is our third year roasting these special peaberries and this year is the most delicious yet. It’s also the first time we’re doing a showcase of the peaberries from Kerehaklu.
Our roaster, Shreyas, asked Pranoy to separate the peaberries from the larger washed and natural lots at the curing works to crest two separate peaberry lots with distinct flavor profiles.
We recommend brewing these lights roasts as a Pour Over or using an Aero Press. Link in bio to get your hands on this limited release!
