Story 3 - Pooja Vij: A Journey of Strength and Motherhood
“My name is Pooja Vij, I’m 40 years old, and I’m a mother of two. I work as a freelance makeup artist and skin therapist, navigating life’s challenges while ensuring my children have a better future than I did.”
Pooja’s journey has been marked by the struggles and judgments many women face. “It hasn’t been easy,” she recalls, sharing how people would make hurtful comments about her appearance and character. Even within her family, she faced harsh criticism.
But despite the pain, Pooja drew strength from her mother’s resilience. “I’ve learned so much from her. My mother is a strong woman, and because of that, I have become strong too.” Today, Pooja is determined to raise her children in a way that spares them from the hardships she endured.
She and her husband strive to create a better environment for their kids, even though they know their children pick up on the difficulties they face.
“My daughter, just like I was for my mother, is my rock. When times get tough, she hugs me and says, ‘Mom, don’t worry, everything will be okay.’ That’s when I realize just how strong daughters can be.
Growing up, people often placed more value on sons than daughters, but I’ve proven that a daughter can be the pride of the family. And my daughter, too, makes me feel proud every single day.”
Pooja’s story is one of resilience, motherhood, and empowerment. “Daughters should never think of themselves as less than anyone. One day, your daughter may be the crown of your head. I know, because I’ve become that for my mother, and my daughter is that for me.”

Story 2 : Meet Nandini Tripathi: A Daughter’s Drive for Change
"My name is Nandini Tripathi, and I’m currently preparing for law and the UPSC exams. I graduated with a degree in Political Science from Delhi University, and ever since I was in 12th grade, I’ve had my eyes set on the UPSC. To me, the UPSC isn’t just a job—it represents power, strength, and the immense responsibility to serve the nation."
Nandini’s journey has been one of hard work, determination, and unwavering support from her family. Her father, who began as a security guard at Café Delhi Heights, has worked his way up to become a store manager—a true symbol of perseverance.
Her mother, a dedicated homemaker, has been a constant source of strength and encouragement, always standing by Nandini's side as she pursued her dreams.
Inspired by the desire to stay sharp in her studies and to give back, Nandini has started an initiative where she teaches 11th and 12th-grade students. For her, it’s not only about reinforcing her knowledge but also about instilling confidence in the younger generation.
"My parents have always been there for me, providing all the support I needed. And that’s what I want to pass on—to have faith in yourself. Believe in your abilities, and you can go far."

Story 1 : Meet Suzzane : A Daughter's unwavering determination and dedication
"My name is Suzanne, and I’m 21 years old. I am currently pursuing my MA in English from Delhi University. In my family, I’m the first person to ever attend college, and that comes with its own set of challenges. My father is a driver, my mother is a house helper, and none of my relatives have studied past the 10th grade. But I have a dream—to buy a house for my family and to become a professor one day."
Suzanne’s life has been filled with trials, but her resilience shines through.
Her determination extends beyond moments like these—she fights for her education in a world where her relatives belittle her efforts. She’s working hard to prepare for the UGC exams to achieve her dream of becoming a professor, driven by the desire to break free from the cycle of uneducation in her family.
Balancing her studies with household responsibilities hasn’t been easy. During her first year of college, with her mother working long hours, Suzanne had to manage the house and care for her two younger brothers, even preparing meals for them. But through all of this, her father has been her greatest pillar of strength.
"My father is my biggest supporter," she shares with pride. "He wakes up early in the morning to make breakfast for me, knowing I have a busy day ahead. He irons my clothes and encourages me to focus on my studies. I’m so thankful for him."
Despite the societal and familial pressures, Suzanne stands tall, inspired by her father's belief in her. And now, she has a message for all daughters: "Believe in yourself. It’s hard sometimes, but trust me, keep fighting."
Her story is a testament to the power of resilience, a young woman determined to uplift her family and prove that dreams, no matter how big, are worth fighting for.
